ACES Ready

Keep AI footage consistent from grade to handoff. Transduce works in one shared linear colour space — so matching, effects, and resize all speak the same language.

How colour moves through Transduce
Source clip → Working space → Grade · effects · resize → Review or export

That middle step — the working space — is ACEScg: scene-linear light finishing facilities already understand.

AI generators usually deliver display-ready SDR files. If you grade each one in its own gamma soup, siblings drift. Transduce converts into a consistent working space first, then lets colour, grain, bloom, and resize operate where light still behaves like light.

That does not invent camera dynamic range the generator never supplied. It protects a controlled finishing pipeline — so what you match and what you deliver stay trustworthy.

Why this matters for AI footage

Three practical outcomes — no colour-science seminar required.

Match Shots talk to each other When every clip lives in the same working space, Match Color, layers, and secondaries compare fairly — not through mismatched display gamma.
Process Effects stay honest Blur, grain, bloom, and sharpen run on the graded working image — after colour, in the same space — not as a random display filter stack.
Handoff Deliver what the pipeline needs Review as SDR for editorial, or export floating-point EXR for VFX — including an ACES interchange option when the facility asks.

Working space, in plain words

You can finish without memorizing these names. They are here when a colourist or VFX vendor asks “what space is Transduce in?”

ACEScg is Transduce’s internal working space — an Academy Colour Encoding System variant built for scene-linear grading and compositing.

Scene-linear means brightness values behave proportionally to light in the scene, not to a TV set’s display curve. That is why grades and optical effects add up cleanly.

AP1 / D60 are the primaries and white point that define ACEScg. You do not need to set them day-to-day — they are the rules of the working space.

Choose the delivery

One grade. Different exits. Exact format matrices live on Universal Compatibility.

You need What Transduce does
Review / editorial SDR deliverables (Rec.709 / sRGB-style) for the timeline — expected looking SDR from ordinary AI plates
VFX / composites Default OpenEXR in ACEScg (floating-point scene-linear) for editorial or VFX that expect the working space
ACES facility handoff Optional ACES 2065-1 (AP0) EXR with chromaticities and the ACES container flag — when someone asks for an ACES interchange file

What you see in the viewer

Preview is a managed conversion to SDR so you can judge the finish on a normal display. It is designed for ordinary AI SDR footage — not a second “filmic” surprise on top of the generator.

Honest scope. Transduce is ACES-ready in working practice: ACEScg for internal processing, with ACES EXR interchange when you need it. It is not an Academy-certified product, and it does not currently ship a full Academy RRT + ODT viewing suite or OCIO-managed monitoring. Colour math first — claims stay within what ships.
